Our Company
Together with his wife Maaike Menger chef Bart Samsom founded Club Cuisine in 2006. Maaike is active behind the scenes in terms of organization and planning. Bart is head of Club Cuisine and has worked as a chef in Amsterdam for more than 25 years. He gives cooking workshops and cooking classes and presents culinary programs on the radio. Club Cuisine works with professional chefs to ensure high service and an inspiring evening!
While studying psychology Bart already worked as a chef in various restaurants in Amsterdam. After graduation cooking became his prime passion which he decided to persue. Bart was born in Holland but raised in the US on a farm in the state of Vermont. His parents also had a lot of passion for food and cooking. His father is an organic agriculture inspector in the US, where Bart got his sense of quality of food and nutrition from. Bart is also a member of the Slow Food Foundation, and strongly believes that people should spend more time and attention to the preparation of food and especially what is available locally. “There are so many great products and dishes we totally forgot because we focus too much on what is available abroad.”
Barts’ favorite cuisines: Mediterranean and Dutch cuisine. “Good food, good wines and music are central to my life and I try to share as much as possible with my fellow man. Cooking and eating plays a very essential social role in every society and culture. It brings people together.”
